Cyclocross is an incredibly accessible form of bike racing. It's slower, softer, and safer than road racing or mountain biking while still offering a competitive challenge and a welcoming atmosphere. We're here to help you prepare for your first race so you can enjoy the experience to its utmost.
There are many different races throughout the day based on your level of racing, your age and your gender. Open or Mixed categories are open to all genders and ages.
If this is your first race, choose among the appropriate Cat 5 offerings.
Pre-reg closes Wednesday at midnight before each race. If you decide to register day of, BRING CASH.
You'll need to get a 1-day license ($10), which insures you in case of an accident or event cancellation. It also supports competitive cycling in general. You will purchase this when you register for the race.
Cat 5 races are 30 minutes long. Singlespeed races are 45 mins. You'll likely get in between 3 and 5 laps around the park. A bell will sound when you're starting your last lap.
30 minutes may not seem like a long time, but trust us, you'll be happy when you cross the finish line for the last time.
Show up at least an hour before you race. If you show up between 8am-9am you can pre-ride the course to get a feel for it. Otherwise you MAY be able to pre-ride between races (but this is highly dependant on a number of factors).
Check in with registration to pick up your race numbers. Ask the registrar which side to pin your numbers on.
Show up to the starting gate 10 minutes before your race starts.
